My name is Raine Hutchens. I've been a writer for many years, and I decided that I wanted to start a blog to keep all sorts of information all in one place. I see this blog as a place for me to post my thoughts, show off my craft, and just talk about whatever I see fit, as I see fit. I hope that others can draw inspiration from what's here, too.
I started getting into tabletop gaming as a kid and progressed into video games as soon as I could hold a controller. I've been gaming all of my life, in one way or another, and I've turned that into more than just a hobby. Back in 2010 I started working as a journalist for GamerFront.net and I eventually moved over and started my own website dedicated to providing news and reviews for tabletop games, InitiativeTabletop.com.
I'm a father to an amazing son, Tobias, and husband to an even more wonderful wife, Kayla. Both of them put up with me being an adult and playing games, as well as writing and talking about them.
I've been dabbling in cosplay for a few years now, but it wasn't until 2015 that I really got serious. Since the beginning of the year I've started working harder at my craft, and have been wanting to help show others my passion for the hobby, as well as encourage those that want to try to do so, regardless of their body type or character choice.
I enjoy traveling to events and conventions across the nation, and am into a vast array of nerd culture. Whether it's anime, manga, video games, tabletop RPGs, LARP, card games, or just general art, I'm there. This is my blog, dedicated to bringing news, reviews, cosplay tutorials, random musings, and opinions on gaming products, events, and other things happening in the nerd/gaming/cosplay community. My goal is to help provide insight and coverage to a vast array of things I find just generally awesome.
